Burnt Studio Productions is a non-profit performing arts organization founded in 1999 by Co-Artistic Directors Sam Read and Michelle Lockhart.  Focusing their efforts on creating and producing new works, Burnt Studio forged a name for themselves in the Seattle theatre community as a provocative and eclectic collective creating three original shows: Progression, ISO...(in search of), and CORDS, which were launched out of the Seattle Fringe Festival and went on to be performed throughout the Northwest. In January 2004, their efforts culminated in a run of Progression at HERE Arts Center in New York City.

Since that time, Burnt Studio has been on a bit of a hiatus as its collective members pursued other ventures.  The organization is now regrouping and focusing their mission on specifically serving the West Seattle community by offering diverse new programming in theatre, dance and performance art.  The organization has a renewed focus on cultivating community, creating unique performance experiences, and shining a spotlight on emerging playwrights and new works.
